Tips for the day of your practical exam

Small details make a difference. Review these points with your instructor during your practical lessons.

Car practical exam

When starting

  • Adjust the seat and fasten your seat belt
  • Adjust the rear-view mirrors

During the test

  • Do not start the engine with the car in gear
  • There is no need to accelerate to start the vehicle
  • Engage first gear before pulling away
  • Do not drive off with the handbrake on
  • Do not press the clutch before the brake
  • Always signal when turning or parking
  • Do not rest your foot on the clutch while moving

When finishing

  • Signal before stopping
  • Put the car in neutral and pull the handbrake before turning off the engine

Motorcycle practical exam

When starting

  • Keep your helmet closed; with an open helmet, wear properly fastened protective glasses
  • Turn on the low beam
  • Start and finish the course in first gear
  • Start the figure-eight from the right side

During the test

  • Do not cross the course boundary lines
  • Do not put your feet on the ground, except the left foot at mandatory stops
  • Enter the cones from the left side
  • At mandatory stops, put only your left foot down, stopping before the line
  • Use the turn signals during the course

When finishing

  • Do not leave the balance lane
  • Do not skid
  • Stop before the STOP sign
